Question
I was wondering if you must take the Yaz birth control pills at the same exact time everyday, if not, what's my range?  And I've also made a mistake in taking my pills, I thought I forgot to take one one day, and took it almost 12 hours later then I usually do, but today it's Tuesday, and I took my pill and I found out after that it was my Wednesday pill.  Some how I took two pills and now I need another.  What should I do?  And is there anything to be concerned about?

Answer
Hello Anna,

Thanks for your question. It is advisable to take the pills at approximately the same time every day. There is really no range that I know of. You should take the pill as soon as you realize that you have missed it. I would have advised you if you took 2 pills, to just go on with one pill each day and just miss the last active pill of the pack.

I'm not a medical professional so please consult with your doctor or your prescription provider. If you are not regular with the pills, I would recommend a backup birth control method.

However, I usually don't recommend the pill or any kind of hormonal birth control method. I have done research on this and many women report side effects from the hormones in the pill or those kind or birth control methods. You may email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com if you want to talk more about this.

Sincerely,
