Question
Recently, I had gotten really sick from they think the gardisal shot, so to counter act with  the sickness from that, that i was having they put me on the  viville dot... i know this is a hormone replacement in all. But i have also been on the depo provea shot for almost 2 years-- i am just wondering if the vivelle dot can make the  depo shot less effective also if it could give You weird symptoms  like You are pregnant.. i since i went to the doctors  for all this  i have gained weight and i just want to make sure that the vivelle dot doesn't lessen the effectiveness of the depo.

Thanks
Staci

Answer
Vivelle dot will not lessen the effectiveness of the depo.  It is estrogen hormone, so it may possibly cause symptoms like pregnancy, since estrogen goes quite high during pregnancy.  The weight that you might gain from the Vivelle dot is probably mostly water weight, since estrogen can cause some fluid retention.  The depo shot is extremely effective for birth control, and that won't be affected by Vivelle.
