Birth Control/Pregnancy Symptoms while on Depo

Question
I'm 26 been on the Depo birth control shot for just over 2 years and haven't had a period since I started using it. Recently (last week or so) I've noticed moments of tiredness and feeling nauseous but no vomiting. Should I be concerned that these may be symptoms on pregnancy?  I don't have breast/mammary tissue because I've had them removed/replace so I can't use that as another potential symptom, nor the periods. I might even have a slight case of heartburn, not sure. I'm due for my next depo shot in 2 weeks. I just want to know if I could be pregnant and if i should buy a pregnancy test before my next shot or would it be a waste of my money?  Thanks

Answer
The Depo shot is highly effective (3 pregnancies per 1000 women using it for one year.  So it's really unlikely that you're pregnant.  However, since there is a slight chance, it's probably better to get a test before your next shot if your symptoms persist.  Since you're due for a shot in 2 weeks, I'd wait until a day or 2 before going in for the shot.  Maybe your symptoms will be gone by then, and you can avoid doing the test.
