Question
Ok, my gyno said that I could start B.c on sunday (lo estrin 24) but I didn't get my period yet, but still took it , I got my period the week after but I'm still taking the pills everyday, my flow was heavy and much painfull than any of my other perids is this good?
Another thing, my boyfriend and I are thinking about having sex without condoms now but how long should I wait to do this?

Answer
Hey,

Your period can change once on the pill. It isn't good, but it isn't bad either. I think you should consider changing pills to be in less pain, there are options such as Yasmin and Levlen.
For now, when you get your period, panadol and a hot water bottle are good sources of pain relief.

Having sex without condoms is a big decision to make, as it increases your chances of pregnancy. First of all, you both need to get checked for STDs, because most people with an STD don't even know it.
This can be done at your local doctors.
Another thing is, discuss with your boyfriend what you'd do in the case of pregnancy occuring. Do you agree on what you'd do? This is very important.
Wait a few weeks for your body to get used to the new B.C.

Expertise

I love questions on condoms, the pill, what to do if contraception fails, if you could be pregnant, obtaining contraception (Even without parental permission). I have a lot of experience with teenagers. One thing I don't know too much about is the IUD, but I'm working on it. I really do care about the people that ask me questions! I don't mind lots of follow up, and I like to know if things turned out okay. I'll be with you every step of the way!
