Question
I am taking the depo shot and I was wondering if it was normal to bleed continuously. It is not a heavy flow but it doesn't stop. Sometimes it will be almost a brown color but then go back to bright red. And I have been having cramping, headaches, and back pain. I am just worried that I might be pregnant again. I have only been on the depo shot for about a month now. If you could give me some advise it would be really helpful. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Jessica,

Thanks for your question. I would recommend that you ask your doctor about this. Bleeding continuously would not be good, in my opinion. I don't know if these all would be signs of pregnancy. Some of these symptoms could be from the new depo. I don't recommend any kind of hormonal birth control.

If you want to have a free pregnancy test, you can go to a pregnancy resource center. You can find one in your area by calling 1-800-395-HELP or go to http://www.optionline.org
Another good website is http://www.heartbeatinternational.org/worldwide_directory.asp
