Question
Hey! & thanks for the help.
Okay. Im 16 & have been on the pill (but it made me break out, and eat too much. And I would miss a pill, then have to take a double pill, and I would vomit cause its to much hormones. So I had to stop taking it.) Then I've had The Patch, & nuva ring. But BOTH made me vomit the same day.
Im 5 foot 3 & weigh around 95 pounds. (High matabolism. Lol) so its hard to find a birth control that won't make me vomit.
So im looking for a slow hormone releasing birth control. [But not the shot.]
So if u can help. I would appreciate it! Thanks =]

Answer
Hey,

Well, due to your low weight, your body probably is having trouble adjusting to having a lot of hormones suddenly. Have you tried just sticking with the Patch of NuvaRing? The side effects often go away in a few weeks as your body adjusts, you're likely to have this problem with just about every hormonal birth control at first. There are also pills that are lower dose so they have less side effects (a negative is they are slightly less effective.) One I have heard about that is meant to be good is Yasmine, try asking your doctor about that.

Expertise

I love questions on condoms, the pill, what to do if contraception fails, if you could be pregnant, obtaining contraception (Even without parental permission). I have a lot of experience with teenagers. One thing I don't know too much about is the IUD, but I'm working on it. I really do care about the people that ask me questions! I don't mind lots of follow up, and I like to know if things turned out okay. I'll be with you every step of the way!
