Question
Hello, I took my Mirena IUD out on the 23 July/09, after 4 years on it. I had regular spotting during my 4 years I had my regular period on July 26/09, My husband and I are trying to conceive we were active during my peak days. I was expecting my period on the 26 of Aug and maybe is too soon but nothing yet, I had a pregnancy test done and it was negative, how long should I wait to try another home pregnancy test??? How can I start counting my fertile days for next month if I don't know when my period is coming!!!????

Answer
The Mirena IUD doesn't usually stop ovulation, but it can, similar to the birth control pill.  If that happened for you, then it's common that your next period would be delayed, usually by 1-2 weeks.  So most likely you'll get your period in the next week or so.  After that, you'll usually get back to however your cycles were before using the Mirena.  Good luck.
