Question
I took a pregnancy test today, and it came up positive. I had a feeling that I was pregnant. I was wondering since I've been taking my birth control pills even though i didn't know that i was pregnant if Being pregnant while on the pill would still have given me my period on my period pills? Because other wise I have no idea how far along i could be..

Answer
Hey,

Congrats on being pregnant! (That is, if you want to be).
Taking birth control pills while pregnant is not safe, so you need to see your doctor as soon as possible to make sure no harm has happened to your baby. When you reached the period pills on your packet, you would probably not get your period, but some women get their periods very lightly in the first 3 months of pregnancy, and I'm not sure how the pill would affect this.

See your doctor,

Diana

Expertise

I love questions on condoms, the pill, what to do if contraception fails, if you could be pregnant, obtaining contraception (Even without parental permission). I have a lot of experience with teenagers. One thing I don't know too much about is the IUD, but I'm working on it. I really do care about the people that ask me questions! I don't mind lots of follow up, and I like to know if things turned out okay. I'll be with you every step of the way!
