Question
I have been using birth control pills for 6 years without a problem.  I ran out of refills on my pills a few weeks ago.  If I have unprotected sex, what are the chances of me getting pregnant?

Answer
Assuming you're normally fertile, your chances of getting pregnant are the same as any other female, which means that if you use no birth control for 1 year, you have an 85% chance of getting pregnant.  Some women get pregnant having sex once, but the average couple takes 5 months to get pregnant after they start trying.  So it usually takes a while to get pregnant, but there's no real way to know how long it will be for you.
