i've been taking the Loestrin 20 contraceptive pill for over a year and now recently about 4 or 5 days before my 7 day break i've been gettin quite bad brown discharge. it's happened about 3 times and always before my 7 day break. i've been to see my nurse but she won't put me on another pill because she said the same thing may happen. i take my pill at the same time every morning and have no other problems except this. i'm also 20 years old. so i don't know what the best thing to do is.

Is it possible to go to another medical person? I don't think it is right for her to say this advice to you. It would be important, in my opinion, to find out why this is happening, rather than to say what she has said. I don't recommend the birth control pills anyway, or any kind of hormonal birth control. I feel that hormonal birth control has too many risks and long-term health problems. If you will email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com we can talk about other options.
