Question
In 2009 I lost my whole right ovary and part of my left ovary due to enormous cysts that were on my ovaries.  I've been on the depo shot as birth control.  When the time comes that I want to have a child is it at all possible to concieve?  Or is being on this shot going to make it much harder or ruin any possiblity of having a child?

Answer
I gave you the wrong email address. It is DCHERYL51@yahoo.com or CHERYL51@aol.com

Hi Paige,

Thanks for your question. I don't recommend depo or any kind of hormonal birth control. I feel that there are possible side effects and health risks from using the depo shot as birth control. I would be a little concerned about getting pregnant after using depo but it might also depend on how long you were on it. Can you not use birth control or can you use some other kind of method besides hormonal. If you want to email me, use CHERYL51@aol.com and put ALLEXPERTS in the subject line. Hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
