Question
Hello, i just started first pack of Mononessa birth control, I have an anniversary celebration at a hotel out of town this weekend and coincidently am on my period right now I started the pill 3 days into my cycle will the pill stop my period or is this a myth I heard? And if so how long will it take? We have planned this vacation for awhile I want it to be a special and "safe" night. My normal periods are a week or longer in length and very heavy.  Thank you.

Answer
The pill will likely help your period to stop sooner, but whether it will stop by this weekend, only time will tell.  Since you started by day 3, you're protected right away, so you'll be safe from getting pregnant.  Most likely your periods will be shorter and lighter in the future.  However, It's hard to know if this period will be much shorter.
