Birth Control/Long period on birth control

Question
I started taking birth control pills about 3 months ago and I am almost halfway through my current pack of pills. I have had my period now for almost two weeks. It's not very steady but every time I think it's over it starts right back. I've also been having some issues with constipation during my periods as well. What could this mean? Should I make an appointment with my doctor to discuss this?

Answer
Breakthrough bleeding is fairly common the first few months when starting the pill, but it should be getting better or going away by now.  Since you've been bleeding for almost 2 weeks, it's probably a good idea to make and appointment with your doctor to check it out.
