Question
Hi,
I been taking Junel Fe for a week now and I have been feeling very sick, I'm talking about dizziness, headaches, and nausea. I have also been taking HCG for weight lose and I was wondering was the combination of both drug causing me to feel sick ? Also, my doctor wasn't that informative about the birth control. I have been on birth control before but I was on depo, this is my first time on a pill so I didn't really no how it worked. Me and my fiance had unprotected sex 2 days in a row because I thought the birth control was affective as soon as I started to take it. So I wanted to know are my symptons caused by the combination of the birth control with the HCG or am I pregnant and the Birth control and HCG may be affecting my unborned child causing my sickness ? Please help me ! As you can tell I'm really confused and tired of feeling sick :(.

Answer
Dear Tshani,

Thanks for your question.

You could have these symptoms from the pill if you are just starting it. The birth control pill has hormones in it that can affect you. Also, the HCG and the birth control pill could be causing problems.

I would recommend you talk to your doctor about this. You need to have more information.

Also, you could be pregnant because even taking the pill doesn't make it impossible for you to get pregnant, There is always a chance of pregnancy with any type of birth control method. No method is 100% safe.

If you suspect that you might be pregnant, you can get a free pregnancy test at a local pregnancy resource center. To find a local center, go to http://www.optionline.org or call 1-800-395-HELP.
Or try this website http://www.heartbeatservices.org and click on the globe in the upper right hand corner of the webpage.
