Birth Control/The pill

Question
I have been on tri- cyclen lo for just over a year now. I started spotting on the Wednesday (a week before my period)and i am still spotting the following Tuesday with my period expected any time.  What does this mean?

Answer
Hi Melissa,

I will be curious to find out what happened in your situation. Spotting could be a side effect of the pill but I don't know why it would happen now, in particular.

I don't recommend any kind of hormonal birth control methods. The reason I don't is because of side effects and risks. Please consider some other birth control method. Please email me at CHERYL51@aol.com if you want to talk more about other options.

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
