Question
I am 21 years old and have 3 children. After having my son in January 2009 I have been getting these ovarian cysts that come in clusters and its very painful I also have colitis and gastritis the doctors that I have seen keep telling me that I should have a  hysterectomy. I have tried estrogen and birth control but nothing works for me do you have any suggestions or advise that could possibly help me? Thank you for your time... Jessica

Answer
Birth control pills tend to prevent ovarian cysts better than anything else I know of.  A hysterectomy itself won't help your ovarian cysts, and you're very young to have your ovaries removed.  I would try different birth control pills to try to find one that does prevent your ovarian cysts.  Good luck.
