Question
Hello, Im 21 and i started taking ortho-tricylin for acne, because I keep breaking out around my chin and mouth area.  I have been on it for a month now, but am still getting breakouts recently.  Does orth-tricyclin help for acne? and How long does it take?  I have never had a problem with acne until the last year so I am guessing its hormonal.

Answer
The pill often helps for acne, and Ortho Tricyclen is usually one of the best for this.  Usually you'll notice some effect within the first month, but I would give it at least 2 months to see how much it helps.  If you don't notice a difference, you might want to try either Yasmin or Demulen to see if they help more for you.  Acne is affected by hormones, stress, and other things.  Often the pill helps, but if not, then it's probably not a hormonal reason why you're getting acne now.
