Birth Control/Birth Control Pill

Question
I started taking the pill (Levelen ED) 13 days ago (after having a break for 1 month) but I starting taking the hormone tablets in the pill packet on the last day of my period instead of the first day.  I have used additional protection which unfortunately broke and now I'm concerned as I started taking the hormone tablets on the last day of my period instead of the first day.

I haven't missed any pills and have been taking them for 13 consecutive days at the same time every day.

Do I have any reason to be concerned?

Answer
I don't think you have reason to be concerned.  It does depend somewhat on how long your period lasted.  If you start the pill on the first day of your period, you're protected from day 1.  If you start the pill within 1 week of the first day of your period, you're protected after being on the pill for 7 days.  As long as your period didn't last more than 1 week, I think you are protected and don't have to worry.
