Question
Hello,
My name is brandi and i am a 15 year old seeking help. I have been on my birth control pill for 3 weeks now.My boyfriend and i have been using condoms until last night(sperm went in me) because after 3 weeks the pill is "effective".So today i went to the doctors because i haven't been feeling good and they said i have a sinus infection and they put me on an anit-biotic (which cancels out the pill) today. so i took the anti-biotics today and just realized sperm stays in your body for a few days.So since i just eliminated my pill and could still have sperm in me, do i have a chance of getting pregnant? thanks:]

Answer
Hi Brandi,

There is a chance you could be pregnant but I don't know how much. Even if the pill is supposedly "effective" there is always a chance of pregnancy. No birth control method is 100% safe in preventing pregnancy.

So anyway, I know you probably don't want to hear this but I would suggest that you refrain from having sex at this time in your life. Lots of young people are choosing secondary virginity and waiting until marriage. Just a thought.

Let me know what you think. You can email me at CHERYL51@aol.com so hope to hear from you soon.
