Birth Control/Should I take my pills now?

Question
I'm on birth control pills and did two cycles back to back without taking the sugar pills so that I wouldn't get my period.  I'm on the third cycle and I skipped the last set of sugar pills again except this time I"m spotting.  I've been spotting for almost two weeks now and my doctor told me to stop taking them and just have my period.  So I stop taking my pills to have my period. I still have my period but tomorrow (being sunday) is when I usually start my new pack. Should I take my new pack tomorrow or wait till my period is done and start it next sunday?

Answer
I would start the new pack tomorrow.  Most likely the spotting will stop after you've been on the pill for a day or 2.  Skipping periods usually works pretty well, but at some point a period wants to come, and it's best to let it.  Usually if you just stop the active pills for about 4 days or so, that will be enough, and then you can go back on the active pills.
