Birth Control/irreregular bleeding

Question
This has never happened to me.  It is not the time i should be on my period but i am bleeding.  I am not experiencing any cramps or pains.  I take birth control and am wondering what is going on with me.

Answer
It's called breakthrough bleeding, and it's pretty common.  It might be due to stress or often we can't explain it.  If it continues next month, it can usually be resolved by switching to a different pill.  It doesn't mean that the pill is not working to prevent pregnancy.
