Question
HI, I just recieved (september-20-2010) my first BC pact which is Lutera-28. My period ended September 18, my DR, told me to begin taking the pills that day(9/20/10) which was Monday. i took the Monday pill. was this the right thing to do, or should I have waited?

Answer
You did right.  As long as you start the pill within 5 days of the start of your period, you're protected right away and don't need to use backup.  Starting during the early part of a period also helps to prevent breakthrough bleeding during the month.
