Birth Control/What can I expect?

Question
I started using Nuva Ring on the 19th December 2010. During the first week, I had sharp pains in my chest and tingling feelings in my arms and legs along with some dizziness. The second week was better but after reading all of the things about the ring on the internet, I decided to stop. So on the 31st I removed the ring. What can I expect? Will I get my period early? Will it take a while? Am I still at risk for clots?
I would like to know how my body will adjust. I will not use any other form of birth control for now.

Answer
You can usually expect your period to start about 2 days after taking the ring out.  Since you only used it about 12 days, it will probably be a light period.  Your next period will probably be a week or two late.  Then you'll usually resume the way your periods were before the ring.  After you've been off the ring for a week or 2 you will no longer be at increased risk for clots.
