Question
Hello, I am currently on the Tricyclen Lo birth control pill, and for about 2 weeks now i have had, what seems to be, my period. So i did a bit of research and it seems to be "breakthrough bleeding" and i thought it would end, but it hasn't. I was wondering if i should switch to a higher estrogen pill (I have been on tricyclen lo for 9 months now) And also, will i get pregnant if i have unprotected sex while expriencing the break through bleeding? thank you!

Answer
Dear Krystal,

You really should talk to your doctor about these subjects. He/she would have more knowledge of your medical history. But yes, you need to find out what is the problem if you are still bleeding. This could be dangerous to your health. I think it is possible that you could get pregnant while on the bleeding. It depends on your ovulation cycle. Please email me at CHERYL51@aol.com and let me know how you are doing.
