Birth Control/Mirena IUD

Question
So I had the Mirena IUD placed yesterday morning with no problems. A little mild cramping but I took 800mgs of Motrin and felt better and didn't seem to "feel" it in there. This morning first thing I used the bathroom and as I emptied my bladder I got a sharp pain in what I would figure is my uterus. Like maybe the IUD was trying to come out. Afterwards I have pressure and now it seems like I can "feel" the IUD. I felt the strings so the thing is supposedly still positioned correctly, just wondering if it takes a few days for my body to get used to it or what.

Answer
Hi Heather,

I'm so sorry for the delay. I've been sick with the cold/flu and got behind on my questions and emails. So what has happened since you sent this question. I'm hoping that you got some medical help/advice from your doctor. This sounds like it could be very uncomfortable.

I usually don't recommend hormonal birth control methods. I'm not sure if your Mirena IUD is hormonal or not. Please let me know any update. I'm concerned about you. You can email me at CHERYL51@aol.com

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
