Question
Norman,

I've been taking Nordette for 2 months now, I just finished my 2nd pack (of active pills) the other day. The 7 days allotedmfor period began yesterday, so of course I did not take any. But I found out that I will be having a special night with my fiance 3 days from now, and I don't want to have my period then! If i begin my new pack of pills today (to prevent the period), is it the same as just missing a pill? If i make up for that "missed" pill today by taking 2, will I be safe from pregnancy if i have sex 3 days from now? Sorry for my english, i hope you understand me. Thank you!

Answer
Hi Lex,
Your English is very good.
If you start the new pack right now (and take 2 pills), it may keep your period from coming.  Once a period starts to come, it's hard to get it to stop, although taking the pill will keep it light.  I would take 2 pills today to make up for the missed pill, then 1 daily.  You're protected because you've been on the pill, so even if you didn't take any pills this week, you're still protected.
