Question
Hi i'm 18 and I am currently taking the mini pill (Cerazette) as a contraception. I have been having sex regularly while on this pill.I have never missed taking my pill but I have taken it a few hours late on occasion. This is my first month taking the pill and I was due to be on my period on the 17th (last Wednesday) and I haven't come on yet. However, I have been having period like cramps the past couple of days but there is no sign of any bleeding... I did some research into the pill and I spoke to my doctor about it when I first got it prescribed and was told that the uterus lining would become thinner to prevent the egg from planting there... I was just wondering if this could stop the bleeding all together maybe? I am thinking I will take a pregnancy test to be on the safe side though. I just need some advice of when is best to take the test?
Thanks, any help gladly appreciated. :)

Answer
I would advise you to call a pregnancy resource center to ask when is the best time to take a pregnancy test. And they usually are free at these centers. Go to this website and see if there is a center near you. http://www.heartbeatservices.org and click on the globe in the upper right hand corner to find the directory. Also, try http://www.optionline.org
Even if you take the birth control pill exactly correctly, you can still get pregnant. There is no method that is 100% safe in preventing pregnancy.

Is it going to be a problem if you ARE pregnant? You can email me at CHERYL51@aol.com and we can talk more that way. Hope to hear from you soon.
