Question
I just started using birth control last month and took the active pills for 28 days. I started the inactive pills 2 days ago. When should I expect my breakthrough bleeding? I'm getting nervous that it isn't going to happen.

Answer
Dear Laura,

Thanks for your question. I would think that you would have had your period by now. So email me at CHERYL51@aol.com and let me know. I would encourage you to think about going off the pill and considering another birth control method that is not hormonal. The hormones in the pill can cause side effects and risks in the present time and the future. Hope all is well and hope to hear from you by email soon with an update.

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
