Birth Control/Implanon

Question
I am the goalie on my lacrosse team in my high school, and tomorrow i am getting the Implanon inserted in my arm. Will i be able to participate in my practices?

Answer
I'm not very familiar with lacrosse.  The Implanon is inserted on the inner upper arm about 3-4 inches above the elbow.  As long as there is no risk of that area being struck, you can participate in practice.  If there is a chance that the area might get hit, then I would avoid practice for a few days to a week, just to let it heal in.
