Question
Hello,

I was just wondering if Pseudoephedrine, which is the active ingredient in medicines such as Advil Cold and Sinus, Zyrtec-D, etc. interfere with birth control pills to make them less effective?

Thank you

Answer
Dear Lauren,

I did a search on http://www.goodsearch.com and put in "Does pseudoephedrine interfere with birth control pills?" I found a few articles about this and most of them said that it shouldn't interfere. Several things do interfere but the main thought of most articles is that particular medication shouldn't be a problem. But I would urge you to ask your doctor or pharmacist to make sure.
