Birth Control/sex after depo?

Question
I have been on Depo-Provera for about three years. My last shot was supposed to be March 17th, but I stopped because I wanted to try a new method. I have heard that Depo takes a while to get out of your system, especially after prolonged use. I had unprotected sex last night, and the guy pulled out. I still have not had a period since stopping the Depo. How likely is it that I am fertile again?
Thanks for your time!

Answer
It's very hard to say.  For some women, it may take 12-18 months for their fertility to return after stopping Depo Provera.  For others, they are fertile 1 week after they miss a shot.  I would assume that you are fertile now.  Once you get a period, you'll know that you were fertile 2 weeks before that.  However, if you got pregnant the first time you ovulate after stopping Depo, then you'll never get a period.
