Question
hi! i had a miscarriage/dnc in feb. 2011. my husband and i want to start trying immediately. my periods came back april, i had one this month may/2011. i wanted to get my hormones back to normal as quickly as possible so i did a little research and started taking 2 capsules of vitex daily. my periods are usually 30-34 days. i usually ovulate around CD17. using ovulation test, i wasnt getting a line only the test line. so i stopped taking vitex and with in 2-3 days i started getting faint lines on the ovulation test. today i used the restroom and noticed a very very small amount of a little bloody tissue which usually mean i'm going to start my period soon. problem is its 1 1/2 weeks early. i was suppose to start around june 4th, i freaked out. i have 2 questioms. by stopping vitex could that start my period earlier? and my hubby is militaary and wont be home for anther 3 weeks, i took a single dose of birth control to delay my period so i can ovulate around the time he returns. is it ok take 3-5 days of birth control to supress my cycle and will this mess up my ovulation by doing so?

Answer
Hi Miranda,

I really can't answer your questions as I am not a medical doctor. Please check with your own physician for the answer to these complicated questions. If you would like to email me at CHERYL51@aol.com I might try to find the answer to your questions. I don't usually recommend that you try to change or alter your natural cycle. A woman's body was made to have a normal, natural cycle and it is not healthy (in my opinion) to interfere with the natural cycle.
Hope to hear from you by email.
