Birth Control/Can I still be pregnant?

Question
I have been on the merena for 3 years and I have not had a check up since it was inserted, since the strings were cut so short I can't tell if it has moved or is even still in there for that matter. I have been experiencing some simptoms similar to when I was pregnant the first 3 times. What are the odds I'm really pregnant? I have taken a few at home pregnancy tests but will these at home tests pick up the pregnancy hormone, with the merena inside??

Answer
Melyssa,

You probably should get a checkup because this is not good if you can't tell what happened with the mirena. I would also suggest that you should get a pregnancy test. You can get a free one at a local pregnancy center. To find one, go to http://www.optionline.org or call 1-800-395-HELP. What kind of pregnancy symptoms are you having? Please email me at CHERYL51@aol.com so we can talk more. I would really like an update. Hope to hear from you soon.
