Birth Control/Inducing Period 1 Week Early on Birth Control

Question
Hi, I've been on Alesse 28 for 2 years.  Last month, I was going on vacation and skipped my 7 day placebo pills and started a new pack right away in order to "skip" my period for the month (which was successful). I had my next period normally with no spotting in between, but it was a week later than normal.   I was just wondering how I would go about moving my period back a week to when I typically would have gotten it before I skipped it.  Is that possible?

Thank you.

Answer
You could stop the pill a week early, but then you'd risk pregnancy.  The other way to get your period back where you wish is to skip the placebo pills and keep taking active pills until you wish to have your period.  As long as you take the pill at least 21 days and are not off for more than 7 days, you're protected.  You can have your period whenever you wish, as long as you follow those 2 rules.
