Question
Hi Cheryl

I was previously taking the contraceptive pill, Microgynon for 6 years and then I had a 3 year break. I am now ready to start taking a contraceptive pill again however, microgynon is now not available where I am living.

The alternative I have is Gynera, will this be ok?

Many thanks

Answer
I don't really recommend hormonal birth control pills or any kind of hormonal birth control method. Until recently, I only recommended condoms and Natural Family Planning.

However, recently I just found out about an alternative birth control method. I don't know much about it so do research or ask your doctor about it.

Let me know what you think. Did you have any side effects from the birth control pill when you took it back then?
