Question
Hello Diane Cheryl,

I just gave birth three weeks ago and i was advised to use MICROVAL as my birth control pill, i only used it four times after i read its side effects,i am very much concerned with my weight, it's the reason why i stopped taking it since it can result to weight gain. Please let me know what birth control pill suits me best, i am presently lactating too. I am looking forward to hear from you, thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Cherry

Answer
Cherry,

Are you nursing your baby? I have heard that if you are nursing you don't have a high percentage of chance of pregnancy. I am glad that you did research on your birth control pill. Most birth control pills have some kind of side effect or health risk. I would advise a non-hormonal method if possible. Have you heard about Natural Family Planning? http://www.ccli.org

Also I have heard about a new product but don't know much about it. So you could research it.
