Question
Hello,

My doctor told me to start talking Birth Control pills starting the fifth day of my period, which happened to be the last day of it (on saturday 7/1). Everyday I am taking the pill, and for the first week I took them all on time. On the third day (9/1) i had a sexual act with no intercourse (dry humping with clothes on) and my bf didn't cum on me. Later on some foreplay followed; I'm am almost 100% sure my bf had no sperm on his hand, but IN CASE he had, do you think there is a big pregnancy chance?? How effective is this pill?? i have heard that i was supposed to start talking it from the 1st day of my period, but i went with what my doctor had told me!!

Thanks for your help!

Answer
As long as you started by the fifth day of a normal period, you're protected by the pill immediately.  There is no pregnancy chance.  The pill is extremely effective (1 pregnancy out of 100 couples taking the pill for 1 year) as long as no pills are missed.
