I know i left it to the last minute-but the whole trip is really last minute-im taking someone elses place so have hardly had time to sort anything out!
can i start the pill now so i dont get my period next week? please any advice would be realy appreciated!
Answer Hi Louise,
Sorry it took me a while to get to your question, Ive been swamped.
Now, you CAN take them early, and hope it postpones your period, and in theroy it should. Now, if you do this, you will need to use a back up method ALL month, should you have sex, because starting them early will NOT offer full protection. Also, you may be more likley to experience spotting or breakthrough bleeding, or your period may be postponed, but come before if is due the next time. So those are all things to consider before making a desicion. And when in doubt, follow up with your Dr. If you are not planning on having unprotected sex, or are willing to use a back up method that first pill pack, then it should be okay, and may work just fine.
