Birth Control/DEPO SHOT

Question
Can you fall pregnant on the depo shot? what will it do to your baby? and how will you know if you don't get your period?

Answer
Hi,

Less than 0.3% of the women using the shot as birth control get pregnant. Unfortunately, a pregnancy occurring on the shot will be masked by the effects of the hormones (not getting your period). You will know by secondary signs such as breast tenderness, morning sickness, weight gain etc. I'm not sure about the effects on a fetus, that's not my field.
