BUT I JUST RECENTLY GOT MARRIED IN AUG OF 2006 SO IN JAN WE DECIDED WE WANTED TO STOP THE BIRTH CONTROL AND START A FAMILY. SINCE I HAVE STOPED I HAVENT HAD A NORMAL PERIOD. I SPOTTED FOR 2 MONTHS.. AND THAT WAS IT.. IS SOMETHING WRONG.. I HEARD THERE WAS A CHANCE I WOULD HAVE TO SEE A SPECIALIST BCS OF THIS PROBLEM.. IS THIS TRUE?
AnswerThe depo shot is problematic for fertility. Normal periods can take up to a year to return, sometimes they don't ever return. I don't know if you need to see a specialists yet, but you probably need to be patient and see what happens. Take good care of your body, eat well, get some good vitamins, exercise, devote your time to making your body as healthy as you can to be a good strong mother and wait. It's been only 6 months, you might have to wait until next January before you see a return of normal periods.
