Question
Hello i have been on birth control pills for a long time now, and i am currently having my period. I want to stop the pills after this week(the 28 day pill packet would be finished)and i would like to start trying to get pregnant. I was wondering if i should get blood tests done to make sure i can have babies? I have heard that b/c methods can have a high risk factor on pregnancy? thank you

Answer
The first thing is to stop the pill. I suggest that you take some lessons in fertility awareness and natural family planning. You will learn about your cycle and understand how your body is working as your fertility returns. The ability to become pregnant is dependent on many factors including age, your male partner, and your fertility compatibility as a couple. You will learn all about this in fertility classes and some of your questions and worries will be answered by you yourself with your new knowledge.
