Your period is a natural normal function of your body. Protect your fertility. Birth control pills are bad medicine for something that is delicate and easily destroyed. Now is a good time to quit using the pill.

Birth Control - Missed Pill and early pregnancy

Expert: Brigid Kowalczyk - 6/30/2006

Question
I missed 2 pills and had unprotected sex the whole week not noticing that i missed.  I got my period 2 weeks early. it lasted a week and im not sure if im supposed to get my regular period too or if my cycle changed and if i could be pregnant.  I took a home pregnancy test as soon as the period ended but it was negative? I dont know if it was a miscarrage or if i am pregant?

Answer
You have to take the pill exactly as it's prescribed.  when you don't you risk pregnancy, of course, but you also cause disruption in your cycle.  If you want your cycle to get back to "normal" you have to follow the directions.  If the pregnancy test said NO, then you are not pregnant.  They are very accurate.  The period you had was your "regular" period brought on early because of missing two pills.
