Birth Control/Missed Pills

Question
I missed my first week of pills because the pharmacy didn't have them. I was wondering since I started late, would my period be a week late as well. Or am at risk for pregnancy.

Answer
Hi Alicia,
I'm not a medical professional but I suggest you check with your physician or whoever prescribed the pills. That sounds very careless that the pharmacy didn't have the pills. Yes, you could be late or get pregnant. The pills, even when taken exactly correctly, are not 100% effective. The only way is abstinence. If you want to get a free pregnancy test, go to http://www.optionline.org and find a center in your area. Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and let me know what happens.
