Birth Control/Missed pill

Question
I have been on Ortho Tricyclen Lo for the past 4 months following the birth of my son. Recently I missed the last pill of the first week and took it with the first pill of the second week but late in the day. The following day I forgot again until late in the day but I did take it that day and then on time for the following days.  My period started within three days of the missing pill. Should I continue taking the rest of the pills? My period should not be starting for a week and a half.

Answer
Hi Jen,
Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical professional so I urge you to check with your doctor. I read an article which said that if you miss 3 pills you should discontinue and start a new pack.  However, it sounds like you only missed one pill but took it the next day. I can do some research if you would like to contact me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com
It's important to take the pills exactly correctly. Perhaps you should consider another kind of birth control and I can help you with that also. Hope to hear from you soon.
