Birth Control/PLease help..
Expert: Bob Kambic - 4/17/2007
QuestionI appreciate you taking the time to read my concern.
Im 24 years old. I have been on and off of birthcontrol (pill ortho cyclen) since January 06. When I first got on the pill, I would take it every single day-and not take my sugar pills to avoid my periods (I have horrible periods w/out BCpills)
Towards the middle of 2006-I started not taking my birthcontrol consistently. I would stop taking them until I had a light period (which usually came 4-5 days after not taking my pills), then start taking them again to stop my period (I would usually have a light period for a 1-3 days). March of this year (2007) I only took a couple pills towards the beginning of the month… March 17th-no period… and still NO period til this day which is April 17, 2007.
March 30th I had a blood test done for pregnancy because I was exhibiting EVERY single sign of being pregnant.. but it came back negative. Im still currently have the nipple soreness, headaches etc. I took a urine test two days ago, and it also was negative. I have had two occurrences where I felt like I was ovulating (one time on march 20th and another time on April 15th.) Could this be possible with no period? Im having slight abdominal bloating.. but its not painful or anything.
I started taking a diet pill called slim 30 in February (thought I should advice you of this) I only took the pill for a month though.. and I had a period that month.
Its hard for me to take time off of work to get more answers for this.. so im trying every source I can at my finger tips. Your knowledge is greatly appreciated.
AnswerAny medicine, the pill included, only works properly if you follow the directions for taking it. You haven't been following directions for almost a year. You body is probably very confused because sometimes it has extra artificial hormones from the pill, and then sometimes your own hormones take over. You really need to be under the care of a physician. You need to try to understand your own cycles. I suggest getting some fertility awareness instruction. See
