Birth Control/Pregnant?

Question
I think I may be pregnant, but not for sure. I have been on and off Yasmin for about 10 years, but consistently for the last 5 months. My last period began on June 6th. I had intercourse on June 18th. I remember that I was a few hours late taking my pill, so I decided to take two pills. I finished out my pack Sunday, July 2nd. I am on my placebo pills now, but haven't started my period. It is Thursday July 6ht today. The reason that I am really concerned is that my breasts have been really sore, more than usual this past week. I usually start my period as well, on tuesday or wednesday of the placebo pills. I actually have taken 2 pregnancy tests (Clear Blue Easy Digital) and they came back negative. Is it too soon to test?

Answer
Pregnancy tests are very accurate.  If you took it when the package said it was appropriate, and it says NO, then you are not.  I expect your period will start in a day or two.  If not, take another pregnancy test but I don't think it will be necessary.

Your period is a natural normal function of your body. Protect your fertility. Birth control pills are bad medicine for something that is delicate and easily destroyed. Now is a good time to quit using the pill.
