Birth Control/Sexual Discomfort due to condoms

Question
My girlfriend and I started having sex in May 2006. At the time she was a virgin and I understood there would be some discomfort for her initially. It is now November 2006 and we can never finish sex because she complains about pain. Not pain during insertion, but a burning sensation from the friction. We use latex condoms, is it possible that a natural condom would aliviate this burning sensation? or is it a different problem?  She is also on the pill, is it necessary to use condoms to stop pregnancy in addition to taking the pill?

Answer
Hi Kayin,
I'm not a medical professional so I urge you to have her see a doctor and have a complete checkup. Yes, there could be an allergic reaction or she could have another kind of problem. An infection, etc. The reason some people use condoms with the pill is to make sure that you have a back up method in case one fails. No birth control method is 100% positive in preventing pregnancy except abstinence. So that's up to you but check with her physician. If you email me back at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com I can tell you more about the pill and other methods.
Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
