I've been on ORTHO TRI-CYCLEN LO for two months and I'm breaking out more then usual, is this normal when i first start taking the pills or should i try another brand. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Tiffany,

Yes, they could be making you break out. Your body is adjusting to the hormones is the pills. You don't need to switch brands right now, it is common for it to take a few months for your body to adjust. It may subside. If you don't want to take the time to wait, you can switch brands if you like, but there may be other side effects with the others you don't like. Be patient, and if it doesn't start to decrease in the next month or so, switching may help you.

And being that it is your skin that is reacting, you can combate that a little bit by watching what you eat, no chocolate, and keep fried foods down to a minimum, and also implement a good skin care regimen. That may help you control it, until it subsides.

Good Luck to you, and Thanks!
