Birth Control/Switched pills, no period

Question
I was taking Ovcon-35, but had to switch brands because the brand I was taking was backordered. I switched to Levlen, but missed the 1st pill because mine were backordered and I had to wait until the next day to get a new prescription called in. I waited a week to have sex because I missed a pil. I always get my period every 28 days on the dot, but I haven't gotten it yet. I should have gotten my period yesterday. Why am I late?

Answer
Hi Shannon,
First off, I want to let you know that I'm not a medical professional so of course, check with your personal physician.
In my opinion, this could be because of the change in prescriptions, because you missed the first pill or you could be pregnant. It's hard to say which one at this point. You could try taking a pregnancy test to rule that out. It could also possibly be stress in your life. To find a place to get a free pregnancy test, go to http://www.optionline.org and call a center in your area and ask when you could take a test. The brands could have different hormones or amounts. Hope this helps and I would like you to email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and let me know what happens.
Thanks.
