Question
I had been on the birth control patch (Ortho Evra) for about one year, and when I found out there were many medical problems from it, I had my OBGYN change my prescription right away. He put me on Yasmin now, but no one ever mentioned to me if I should be using other protection for the first 30 days....please let me know.

Answer
Hi Amy,
I'm glad that you are getting off the patch. There has been much research done and I believe that it is very unhealthy and even dangerous to a woman's body. However, I don't believe that the birth control pill is healthy either. But I'm not a doctor so check with your physician. It might be helpful to use two methods. No one method is 100% effective. The only method that is 100% is abstinence. Hope this is helpful to you. If you would like more information about the pill or other methods, please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com
